These terms are the contract between you and Eclipt UG (haftungsbeschränkt) (“we”, “us”) for the Nuprep app for Android and iOS and the services behind it (together, “Nuprep”). You accept them when you create an account. How we handle your data is in our Privacy Policy.

Who can use Nuprep?
You must be at least 18 years old. An account is for one person: don’t share it, and keep your password to yourself. Nuprep is for your own exam preparation, not for commercial use.
What does Nuprep offer?
Nuprep prepares you for a language exam: practice in reading, listening, writing and speaking, model tests under exam conditions, a study plan, and an estimate of how ready you are.
- Free: reading, listening and language exercises, and your plan.
- Plus: in addition, correction of your writing, conversations with the speaking partner, full model tests, and your readiness estimate.
What each tier includes may change as Nuprep develops. What changes for Plus while you pay for it is set out under Can Nuprep change? below.
How does Plus work?
You buy Plus in the app, from Google Play or the App Store. The store sells it to you, takes the payment, and handles renewal, cancellation and refunds under its own terms. The price and the trial are shown in the app before you buy.
- Renewal and cancellation. Plus renews automatically until you cancel it in your store account. After you cancel, Plus stays active until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Deleting your account does not cancel Plus. Cancel it in your store account, or the store will keep charging you.
- Withdrawal. Your statutory right of withdrawal as a consumer is exercised with the store that sold you Plus, under its procedure.
How much does Plus include?
Speaking and writing correction use AI services we pay for by use, so Plus includes a monthly allowance:
- 180 minutes of conversation with the speaking partner, and
- 60 corrections of your writing.
The allowance renews each month on the day your subscription began, on the monthly and the yearly plan alike; what you don’t use does not carry over. The free trial includes the same allowance for its week. A model test needs both allowances to have something left when it starts; once started, it always runs to its end. A conversation is never cut off because the allowance runs out, and a conversation you have held is always graded. The app shows what you have left.
We may raise the allowance at any time. We lower it only as described under Can Nuprep change?.
What does Nuprep not promise?
- Grades and readiness are estimates. Your writing and speaking are graded by AI models, and your readiness is a statistical estimate. Both can be wrong. They are practice, not an exam result.
- We cannot promise that you pass. Your result depends on you and on the exam on the day.
- Nuprep is independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for telc gGmbH or any other exam provider. Our exercises are our own, written to the published format of each exam.
- Nuprep needs an internet connection, and we don’t promise that it is available at every moment. We maintain and update it, and keep interruptions as short as we can.
What may I not do?
- Use Nuprep for anything illegal, or say or write anything illegal in it.
- Try to make the speaking partner or the grader produce harmful, abusive or illegal content, or use them for anything other than your exam practice.
- Access Nuprep by automated means, copy or collect its exercises, or pass them on to anyone.
- Get around the allowance, the age limit or any other limit, or interfere with Nuprep’s security or operation.
- Decompile or reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it.
Who owns what?
The exercises, texts, audio, design and software of Nuprep are ours or licensed to us, and protected by copyright. You may use them for your own preparation while you have an account, and for nothing else.
What you write and say in Nuprep stays yours. You allow us to process it only to provide Nuprep to you: to grade it, to show it back to you, and to include it when you download your data. We don’t publish it or give it to anyone except the providers named in the Privacy Policy, for the same purpose.
Can Nuprep change?
We develop Nuprep continually and may change, add or remove features. We change what Plus includes while you pay for it only for a valid reason, such as a change in law, in the exam’s format, or in our providers’ terms or prices, and never at extra cost to you. If a change affects your use of Plus more than slightly, we tell you at least 30 days before it takes effect, and you may then end your subscription free of charge within 30 days of the change (§ 327r BGB); we refund what you paid for the time after it.
Can these terms change?
If we want to change these terms, we will show you the new version in the app and ask you to accept it. Until you do, the version you accepted continues to apply. If you don’t accept, we may end your account with at least 4 weeks’ notice; if you have Plus, we refund what you paid for the time after it ends.
How does my account end?
You can delete your account at any time, in the app under Profile. Everything in it is deleted at once (see the Privacy Policy), and cancelling Plus is still up to you, in your store account.
We may end your account with 4 weeks’ notice, and immediately if there is an important reason, in particular a serious or repeated breach of these terms after a warning. An account nobody has used for 24 months is deleted after a warning, as the Privacy Policy describes. If we end your account without it being your fault, we refund what you paid for Plus for the time after it ends.
If we ever stop offering Nuprep, we will tell you at least 4 weeks before and refund what you paid for the time after it ends.
What are you liable for?
We are liable without limit for damage we cause intentionally or through gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz), and where we have given a guarantee.
For simple negligence, we are liable only for breach of an essential obligation, meaning one that makes the proper performance of this contract possible at all and on which you may regularly rely, and then only for the damage typical of the contract and foreseeable when it was made.
Otherwise, our liability is excluded. These limits also protect our employees and agents.
Which law applies?
German law, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you live in another country, you keep the protection its mandatory consumer law gives you.
We are neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board (§ 36 VSBG).
App Store
If you got the app from the App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies alongside these terms. Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for Nuprep.
